Perimeter Supervisor

The iPhone app a Burning Man Perimeter lead runs a shift from, before, during and after. Everything is saved on the phone, so it keeps working with no signal.

Used on shifts at the 2026 burn. The schedule itself comes from its sibling app, FireShift.

What a lead does with it

Before the shift

The day's schedule and what comes next, roll call, pairing volunteers, and the briefing.

Trucks and equipment

Equipment checks, moving trucks between points around the perimeter, and a movement log.

During the shift

Who is where, meals, notes on each volunteer, and accountability for everyone out there.

Handoff and wrap

Passing the shift to the next lead of record, and wrapping up cleanly.

Day and Night themes are tuned for desert glare and for keeping your eyes adapted to the dark. Every change is attributed to the signed-in lead.

Why this exists

Perimeter leads run their shifts out on the playa, often with no cell service, in dust and darkness. Clipboards and paper rosters get lost and are hard to hand off. Perimeter Supervisor keeps the whole shift in one place on the lead's phone, from roll call to the handoff.
